CONSOLE / SHIFTER BOOT REMOVAL

this is done on a 2nd Gen, its alittle harder to do then a 1st Gen.

On a 1st gen you basicly remove your shifter knob and yank up on the boot

Remove the ashtray/cup holder ( just kinda yank up on it )

There are 2 Screw under this assembly holding the concole to the floor.

2. Un-Screw the shifter knob, and pull up on the boot to dislodge the bushing.

There is a little light thats shines on the ashtray, twist out the socket.

Remove the HVAC/radio trim piece.Pull on it from the top, by the

outside/inside air. There are 2 clips near the top and just retainers at the bottom.

DONT pull on the bottom.

Remove the 2 screws behind the trim piece that are right above the radio.

Remove the 2 screws that Are on each side of the console in the rear seating area

Pull up on the concole a little and remove the wires connected to the lighter and unscrew the light on the lighter and ashtray

Remove the whole concole from the car.

Remove the 4 screws holding the shifter boot to the bottom of the console.

Unfold the flaps that are wraped around the shifter boot mounting ring.

Turn the entire boot in-side-out

Cut the zip-tie that holds the boot to the bushing.

Save the bushing and trim ring.

Turn your new shifter boot in-side-out.
Replace your bushing. (secure it with a new zip-tie)
Wrap the flaps around your Mounting ring.
Turn the boot right-side-out
Reverse the removal prosess
