Almost. The rod with the nut & cotter pin is a tapered fit and has to be forced out. Here's a video of how to do it without messing up the boot on the tie rod.

Probably will come out when you pull the engine but it'll be a nightmare to get back in. If you haven't removed the tie rod from the spindle yet that should allow you to clear that last half inch

Yeah I've been there on my FWD on the passenger side. I had to separate the tie rod to get the axle to clear the trans can't remember but I don't think i had to remove the sway bar link but it bolts to the LCA on a 1g. At that point I just...

Also the left axle has a carrier bearing bolted to the block that needs to be unbolted before it will come out of the trans.

-Remove the cotter pin from the axle nut and unbolt the axle nut. -Unbolt the strut from the spindles (2 large 17mm bolts/nuts) -Slide the end of the axle out of the wheel hub.Now just take a pry bar between the axle cup and transmission and...

To be honest I have all the special tools and don't use any of them except the long rod to put tension on the auto tensioner, I use 2 zip ties, a ratchet and a flat screw driver, I screw the rod in until it's just putting a tiny bit of pressure...

You have a build thread for that? ROFLBut seriously if you ever have time to post up how you did it that would be awesome. I've looked into getting one but all the "factory made" ones I've looked at have bad reviews and then I back out of...

Not a put down but just to clarify for your future reference crankshafts get turned and/or polished. Milling is done to flat surfaces like head/flywheels/block decks ect.If you had the crank turned are you sure you are putting undersized...

It is extremely hard to tell from a picture. The bottom looks like it has a pretty deep groove on the left but that could just be the lighting.Does your car have a balance shaft delete? If so take a picture of the stub shaft. There's a bunch...

97egl replied to the thread 1G Help with choosing camshafts.
You can easily make 400 on stock cams. (Side note I'd stick with 350hp personally. 400 is pushing the limits of the transmission)Bigger cams make an engine less streetable. Best thing to do is invest the money in tuning software, then fuel...
