So I completed the swap a couple months ago but now as I near inspection time I have 2 items to complete for my sticker. The reverse lights wont work (determined it is wiring because jumping the connection does nothing) and I need my clutch safety switch working as well. I have the switch and...
Got the clutch and brake pedal installed and trans dropped. Might have rounded a flex plate bolt with my air gun 😬 gonna heat them with with a propane torch unless anyone has other suggestions 🤞
I'm glad to see forums running strong into 2023. I was a honda guy for a while and my favorite forum disappeared one day and it was taken over by ads and robot click bait bullshit. Glad to see this one is here and very helpful.
Thank you so much for the help. I'll be reaching out once I'm on leave in a month and back to wrenching. Just for shits though, does the 90-91 differences have a production beginning and ending dates? Just wondering if I'd get lucky based off the productions date...fat chance I know.
I swear by this process, can't tell you how many times I cringe when I see a front bumper with the paint all chipped off simply cause they didn't use adhesion promoter. 🤦♂️great writeup!
Understood, I'm not too worried about that part. I'll find the fix to that to retain cruise control to keep it factory as possible. Appreciate all the help!Appreciate the input. I'll likely keep the na harness, I take pride in my wiring abilities so I'm sure I will over engineer it lol.
Appreciate the backup on keeping the thread credible. Time is not something I have an abundance of and I like a driving project, not something that sits layed up for a couple seasons. I'm going to mtx swap first. With that being said, all manual components swap over from the 90 mtx and i will...
Honestly, drilling new holes for the shifter equipment seemed to be the only thing that would hold me back from using the 90 parts, so no big deal. I might just hold off on the turbo swap and rebuild the turbo engine to go with it.
The manual swap will be the first order of business, I'm pretty well ready to swap over per the vfaq page, but the 90-91 differences appeared to be the only roadblock I'd come across with parts, but I will be using all 90 mtx parts I have for this portion of the swap.
Knowing the ecu will work...
So I'm going to be swapping my 91 na auto to a manual from a 90 GST (whole donor car). I have to keep the parts spend low and I'm learning the shifter cables and assembly is different from 90 to 91.Before I suck it up and start sourcing 91+ equipment, do I have any hope of using my 90 items...
Hey guys, need a little clarification on the 1g harness before I begin my projects.I have a 91 auto nt and a 90 manual GST. I'm going to first swap the 90 manual trans into the 91. (If my research has been correct this will not require swapping the wiring harness and ECU.) However I do plan...
I appreciate all the feedback guys. This is great info. I want to use the 90 (boost) cluster for originality but if its going to really add a boat load more work...maybe i should keep the 91 cluster in place. Actually, 🤦♂️ is it even possible to swap odometers? If not then nevermind it swapping...
Hello everyone, first time posting a thread here.I picked up a 90 GST 5spd with a clapped out body and a 91 GS auto in near mint condition. I am going to swap the trans, turbo and all supporting components from the 90 to the 91.What should I be pulling from the 90 besides the obvious?I...
Hello everyone!Im very glad to be here! My first car was a 90 gs 1.8 auto i bought in 2000. So slow...so slow. I was 16 and dumb so I poured money into it, working every second i could when I wasn't in school to save up $ to fund it. 1 day it was stripped in my backyard by a local gang. When I...
